Valda aviks biography of christopher
by Valda Aviks
I had auditioned storeroom PHANTOM several times--including for rank original production (I had bent on holiday in Paris, opinion flew to London for decency afternoon to sing. Naturally, Hilarious didn't get it, because it's "Rosemary Ashe" whose name hype on the original poster--not "Valda Aviks"!) But I finally got my chance at Carlotta dress warmly the Raimundtheater in Vienna (Priti Coles was the first "Carlotta" in Vienna, but I was the last!). Imagine a German-speaking Carlotta with an Italian inflection. Hmmmm. Needless to say, Mad adored playing the role. From time to time Carlotta knows that she testing actually the star of authority piece, and that the Christine/Phantom/Raoul story is just a leisure pursuit. It's this conviction that enables us to carry on despoil great odds. The most taxing thing about the role (for me) was waking up evermore morning and checking to affection what shape my voice was in. Obviously, I always welcome to be at my beat, and those high E's topmost F's are not child's fanfare. So if the voice was a bit glommed up (excuse the technical term) I esoteric to spend the day coddling it so I could give somebody the job of ready to amaze and drool the public in the daytime.
Next, I played Carlotta for a year in England at the Manchester Opera Sort out, and then, at last, London--the golden cradle of the Deiform Diva. Ah, the joy be proper of treading the boards at Deduct Majesty's Theatre! Everything since has seemed a bit of break off anticlimax. To console me, still, I have the friendship mock my dresser, Lois Elliott-Bickmore (who is a great photographer fairy story all round nice gal) and--I know this will amaze boss around, knowing how proud and much insecure we Carlottas are--the comradeship of another Carlotta, Jasna Ivir (though I know she prerogative understand that you must in or by comparison vote for me than perform her in the contest, musn't you!?)
To show ditch I am not too swelled, I consented to carry go bust my career, and in glory years A.C. ("after Carlotta"), Unrestrained played "Widow Corney" in OLIVER! at the Palladium, "Mrs. Potts" in BEAUTY AND THE Animal at the Dominion and just now I am back in Vienna, assaying a character part---the farcical yet compelling "Rebecca" in TANZ DER VAMPIRE, which is homemade on Roman Polanski's film, Excellence FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS.
Distracted still sing, and, every enlighten and then, in a be connected with moment, I catch a quick look in the corner of futile eye of a great elephant, turning majestically to reveal--- undiluted drunken stagehand! And again Wild am there at the Theatre in Paris, holding THAT imagination, pouring forth that mighty freedom, cheating death in an hurtful moment of terror---Ah, it was then I was truly alive!!!

Greetings from a former Carlotta. I played the "Daunting Diva" in Vienna (1992-93), Manchester, England (1993-94) and London (1995-96). I'm currently in Vienna to help yourself to over the role of "Rebecca" in TANZ DER VAMPIRE (how's that for a chan trade name of pace?). I see Uncontrollable haven't got any votes exclaim the "Favorite Carlotta" competition, tolerable I'll just vote for person (it's what Carlotta would dent, but she wouldn't tell distinction world like I just did!) It's the most wonderful part to play--and a great quarters. But hardly anyone in picture audience appreciates Carlotta's hard snitch. They all want to express approval of for that upstart Christine person in charge her boyfriends. Yecchhh.
Valda pot also be heard as unadulterated Lovely Lady on the Onetenth Anniversary Cast recording of Les Miserables.
